U can tell gears 6 is going to be a disaster I've recently replayed 4 and 5 for some achievements but as soon as I get to the open world just felt so depressing and lost all interest in playing that I literally hopped back to the 360 just to play OG gears of war and assassins creed brotherhood. Honestly the only thing that can save gears 6 is to drop the kait storyline, no open world less fucking robots continuing JD storyline, better story and writing, idgaf about graphics as long as the story is good More OG characters from the series more weapons and OG weapons, and work on the swarm cause the swarm and there connection to the locust is a joke in my views. Like how did a smart organizaned sophisticated and deadly civilization that built a whole underground civilization turn to something that looks something from cod ghost aliens and resistance chimera aliens that evolved to unorganized savages. I literally have to remind myself I'm playing gears of war.

I'm really hoping they do abandon the Kate Diaz storyline and declare it non-canon.

My biggest issue has been the lack of focus on EXECUTION. Why the hell did TDM become the popular mode in multiplayer for GOW? 😂

We had Anya, Sam, and bernie. If they wanted a strong female lead I wish they would’ve just kept one of them around and decided they were going to travel with jd on his adventures

the visual aspect of the game could be a little darker but other than that its virtually the same game just with updated graphics dont know what u were expecting tbh, i enjoyed ultimate and play it to this day, if you're not host on gow1 good luck on trying to go positive lmao

I liked gears 5. The fighting was too formulaïc though and the characters were awful.

I use to hate in 5 a lot, and after redownloading it and playing it I actually really enjoy it. Is the campaign as good as it use to be? No, but it’s still really fun. I actually enjoyed the mini open world and blasting fools to get more upgrades. Kate is definitely annoying but I always felt the same about jd. Idk, maybe I’m just excited that we got a new GOW coming but I plan on replaying all of them.

My first impression of Gears 4 and 5 was "So basically this Kait moron and friends spend their time not only disobeying orders over and over but also disrespecting authorities and they get away with it every single time while Marcus spent 4 years in prison and the Kilo squad is almost executed for doing so once?"

The change in the tone of the graphics makes sense tho in the first two games humanity was in gritty and desperate times, on the verge of collapse. The colors in the new one show humanity is thriving again in its generation without the locust. I personally loved the 1 and 2 graphics and how it set the tone but the change makes sense.

JD should absolutely be brought back as the protagonist for a future Gears 6.

Her only character trait is being annoying.

In all honesty my gripe is the controls. After going on a marathon of the gears series, to play judgement day feels like a game trying too hard to be like other mainstream games.

The new chapters while not needed definitely add what happens between the mansion and the train so it’s not really slowing it down just showing more of the story and what happens

I completely forgot how much of a rude and disrespectful douchebag kait is. Characters like Marcus and Baird come off as gruff intimidating people, but actually do want to help people. Gears 4 and 5 have no heart.

Did this guy play the same game as us? The *REMASTER* was as faithful to the original as can be all while adding content from the PC version and enhancing the graphics from drab browns into a vibrant but also desolate scope. Its impossible to play the original now that this is here. Weak take

I'll be honest i only plyed through the campaign of 4 and 5 once( maybe twice in 4 case) but don't remember much about it. But i could tell u about 1-3 and parts of judgements campaign but not 4 and 5 other then maybe guns i liked

When I think of a next-gen game I think of when Gears of War on the Xbox 360. Gears was a true generational leap in video game technology.

Gears of War 2 will always be my favorite campaign, but Gears of War 3 Horde will forever hold many core gaming memories growing up. Being a kid, spending 3 hours to survive all 50 waves with a couple of buds were great times. I'd just about always play as Ben Carmine, and if not, an Onyx Guard.

I always thought judgement was cool. We got paduk overrun, and I always thought the multiplayer had more of an unreal tournament flare to it than any of the other gears. Don’t get me wrong, I like the original gears formula a lot more, but judgement came out like right at the end of the 360s lifecycle before the one first dropped if I’m not mistaken. I understood it was their last ditch effort to milk gears before the next generation arrived and I still loved it

I might be late to this discussion, but for me, another central problem with the Swarm is their lack of purpose and voluntarism. When you interact with the Locust in Gears of War 2, you can clearly see that they are not very different to humans in various regards: they need to eat, they need to sleep, they build roads, buildings, sacred places, monuments, they know how to write, how to measure time, etc. After visiting New Hope you can connect the dots and realize that the Locust were made after former humans mutated with Imulsion, and that Imulsion was the whole plot point during the original trilogy. Humans accidentally created the Locust while trying to find a cure for Lambency. Then tried to weaponize them during the Pendulum Wars and failed. The Locust then sought shelter in the sub-soil (The Hollow), but humanity went into full time consumption of Imulsion at the end of the Pendulum Wars. Myrrah had no choice but to attack humanity to prevent them from extracting Imulsion at an industrial scale, accelerating the Lambency process. The attack was led by numerous generals: RAAM, Skorge, Ukkon, Karn,...all of them with authentic identities in the horde. On the other hand, the Swarm have literally no past and no future. Their sole purpose is to feed and multiply, like a savage animal. They have literally no identity, no culture, no purpose against humanity.

The gory and visceral details of mutilated locust bodies being removed on the remastered was a let down. I enjoyed seeing their guts and bones. It's a cool detail.
